Chris Ferguson: WSOP Player Of 2017

It is now official that Chris “Jesus” Ferguson has taken the title of Wold Series of Poker Player of 2017. It was a rat’s race, but for poker fans all over the world, it was a bittersweet moment. Having won his 6th WSOP bracelet, this put him in delightful air that night.

All About It!

Ferguson is disruptive amongst the poker community as well as the general media. But his skill at the game is undeniable.  In the most recent WSOP tournament, he cashed in more than 20 times and added a sixth bracelet to his collection.

When John Racener, popularly known as the runner up of the main event in the 2010 WSOP, went bust at level nine, Ferguson took the title. His win is controversial, but besides that, many people of the poker community aren’t pleased. The number of entrants was very small, and was seen that this could devalue the prestige of winning bracelets. Regardless of these views about him, Ferguson is still the WSOP: Player Of The Year 2017.

Abit Of The Past…

Ferguson got his name “Jesus” from his beard and long hair. Along with his trademark, hats and shades were easy to hide that he was a college student as he adopted early to the tables. Being the son of mathematicians and theoretical probability experts, it helped him fester his love for Texas Hold’em. He took up this game at the age of 10.

Jesus stepped away from the tables in 2008 on the solid foundation of a successful career and as a founding member of Full Tilt Poker. Play a series of poker games at Moon Games Casino. There are also a series of poker movies you can watch as well!
